Neglected Sunan Related to Ghusl: Not Using Towel afterward, & Removing Traces of Water from Body with Hand, & Rubbing Left Hand Over Earth or Wall after Washing Privates, & Changing Place to Wash Feet

Question: Is it permissible for one to use a towel to dry oneself after performing ablution? Does this depend on weather conditions, or is it a general ruling?

Imaam ‘Abdul-‘Azeez ibn ‘Abdullaah Ibn Baaz (d. 1420H, rahimahullaah) and the Permanent Committee for Scholarly Research and Ifta’ answered: “The use of a towel to dry oneself after performing ablution or Ghusl or not using one are both permissible. The scope of permissibility is broad in this regard, all praise is for Allaah.

However, it is best not to use a towel after Ghusl to be in keeping with the example of the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم).
