Sheikh Zayd ibn Hadi Al-Madkhali

This morning, Allaah decreed that the angel of death take the soul of the ‘Allaamah, the Sheikh, Zayd ibn Hadi Al-Madkhali.

إنا لله وإنا إليه راجعون

May Allaah shower His mercy upon the Sheikh, forgive his errors and house him in one of the gardens of the gardens of Paradise.

It is truly a calamity when the Ummah loses a Salafi scholar. The Messenger(ﷺ) said:

“Allaah does not take away the knowledge, by taking it away from (the hearts of) the people, but takes it away by the death of the religious learned men till when none of the (religious learned men) remains, people will take as their leaders ignorant persons who when consulted will give their verdict without knowledge. So they will go astray and will lead the people astray.” {Sahih Al Bukhari}

May Allaah have mercy on us and guide us. Indeed we are in a time where the Salafi scholars are few and the scholars of misguidance are many. It is only by the mercy of Allaah that we are guided to the correct way and the death of the honourable Sheikh highlights that we have very little time before death comes to each one of us.

We do not praise anyone beyond their worth, and we judge them based on their actions. That being said, Sheikh Zayd was a fountain of knowledge. His books, audios and explanations are many and are of great benefit to this Ummah. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

“When a person dies, his deeds are cut off except for three: Continuing charity, knowledge that others benefited from, and a righteous son who supplicates for him.” {Sahih, from At-Tirmithi}

We ask that Allaah continues to benefit the Ummah through the works of the Sheikh and that He write it in his scale of good deeds. May the Salaah and Salaam be upon Muhammad, his wives, companions and all those who follow them in righteousness.
