Remembrance of Allaah

Allaah said:

“Therefore remember Me (by praying, glorifying, etc.). I will remember you, and be grateful to Me (for My countless Favours on you) and never be ungrateful to Me.” [Surat Al-Baqarah: 152]

“O you who believe! Remember Allah with much remembrance.” [Surat Al-Ahzab: 41]

The Messenger (صلى الله عليه و سلم) said:

“He who remembers his Lord and he who does not remember his Lord are like the living and the dead.” [Saheeh Al-Bukhari]

“Whoever reads one letter from the Book of Allah, will receive one Hasanah (reward for a good deed), and one Hasanah comes with ten like it. I do not say that Alif-Lam-Mim is a letter. Indeed Alif is a letter, and Lam is a letter, and Mim is a letter.” [At-Tirmidhi- Graded Saheeh by Al Albani]

And he (صلى الله عليه و سلم) said:

“I command you with dhikr (remembrance) of Allaah, for indeed the similitude of it is like the similitude of a man who is hotly pursued in his tracks by the enemy, until he reaches an imenetrable fortress, so he saves himself from them. Like wise, the servant cannot save himself from Shaytaan (Satan) except by the dhikr of Allaah” [Quoted by the Imaam Ibn Al Qayyim in Saheeh Al Waabikis-Sayyib minal Kalaamit tayyib]
