Why should you be patient, when they call you names and tear your flesh when you turn away from them?
Why should you be patient, when they lie against you and hinder your path?
Why should you be patient when every attempt you make to help them is faced with sarcasm and mockery?
“…Allaah loves As-Sabirin (the patient ones)” [Surah Al-Imraan:146]
Do you not wish to be loved by Allaah?
“O you who believe! Seek help in patience and As-Salat (the prayer). Truly! Allaah is with As-Sabirin (the patient ones)” [Surah Al-Baqarah:153]
Do you not wish for Allaah to be with you?
“Never is a believer stricken with a discomfort, an illness, an anxiety, a grief or mental worry or even the pricking of a thorn but Allaah will expiate his sins on account of his patience” [Bukhari and Muslim]
Do you not wish for your sins to be expiated? Though you know that your sins are many?
“Whosoever wishes to be patient, Allaah will give him patience, and no one is granted a gift better and more comprehensive than patience.” [Riyadhus Saaliheen]
Will you reject what you know to be a gift? When the Messenger (صلى الله عليه و سلم) said there was no greater gift than this?
“And be patient; verily, Allaah loses not the reward of the good-doers.” [Surah Hud:115]
Is not the reward with Allaah what you yearn for?
Be patient right now, for this lowly dunya is unworthy of your attention. “Verily this worldly life is departing and the hereafter is approaching” [Bukhari- statement of Ali bin Abi Talib]
Be patient for Jannah, and know that there is no sadness or grief for its inhabitants.
Be patient with life, and know that you own nothing more precious in it, than guidance from your Lord.
Persevere and know:
“… that if the Nation were to gather in order to benefit you with something, they would not benefit you except with what Allaah has written for you. And were (the Nation) to gather in order to harm you with something, they would not harm you except with what Allaah has written for you. The pens have been raised and the scrolls have dried. And know that victory comes with patience, that with hardship there is a way out, and that with difficulty comes ease.” [Forty Nawawi]
