The Beauty of Islam…

Notes from a lesson by Hadi Hammad of Muwahidoon.com

“…It is sad to see the Muslims attracted to other lifestyles besides Islaam. When what comes with Islam is beautiful and what comes with the western lifestyle is ugly. The Muslim has to thank Allaah for making him a Muslim; he must know that his heart is between Two Fingers of Ar-Rahmaan, and that if Allaah had not guided him, he would have never been guided. It is the decree of Allaah that we are human; we make mistakes but if we were to truly appreciate this blessing, we would not lift our head from making Sujood, we would not stop saying الحمد لله. But we tend to forget the blessings of Allaah on us. We walk upon earth, many of us do not thank Him, many of us rebel, saying:
‘Why?’
‘This is unfair’
‘I don’t like this’
‘I don’t want this’
‘I don’t believe in this’
But this is a short life! From the beautiful tafaseer of Mujaahid and others from the salaf, of the ayah:

“And do not forget your share of the world” [Surah al-Qasas: 77]

They said:
‘Don’t forget that this life, you have to work for it, you have to work for Jannah. Don’t forget to work in it for your Afterlife.’

Rather you see the Muslims these days saying that this means we should ‘go out, keep laughing, joke, watch TV, listen to music, and don’t forget your portion in this life.’

Have they not read the tafaseer of the salaf? The Muslim does not forget his portion of this life! The Muslim does not forget his portion of this life, but he does not go to the extent that if he eats and takes from it, it will lead him to the fire, or it will lead him to the threat of being punished. We thank Allaah سبحانه و تعالى that we are upon this religion that cleaned our hearts, before it cleaned our bodies. For many people it has only cleaned their bodies and not their hearts.

It is sad that we do not think of the blessings of Allaah on us. Allaah reminded His Messenger (صلى الله عليه و سلم) of His blessings, and the Messenger (صلى الله عليه و سلم) is the best one to remember the blessings of Allaah, the best to know them, the closest to Allaah سبحانه و تعالى from His slaves. Allaah told him:

“Did He not find you an orphan and give [you] refuge?” [Surah ad-Duhaa: 6]

If Allaah reminded the Messenger (صلى الله عليه و سلم) of His blessings, it shows how much WE need to remember them and the highest of blessings is the blessing of Tawheed…”

I ask Allaah by His Beautiful Names and His Perfect Attributes, that He make us of those who appreciate the beauty of His religion and to send salutations and peace upon the Last Messenger, his family and his companions.
